Hollywood Stars and Sports Celebrities Help Raise Thousands of Dollars at Autism Care and Treatment's 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

From actors to Super Bowl champions - advocates from around Southern California joined forces this May 17, to help raise awareness and funds for children with autism.

Autism Care and Treatment, a leading non-profit organization that provides funds for children with autism, has announced its 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament has raised $36,000 for children with autism.

The event was hosted by award-winning actor Joe Mantegna and Comedian John Mendoza. It was held on Monday, May 17, 2010 at Braemar Country Club in Tarzana, California. The Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD), world renowned for effectively treating children with autism, was this year's Title Sponsor.

"We are - without a doubt - grateful for all of the advocates who have supported this year's charity golf tournament," says Tournament Director Stefan de Nocker.

"This was an absolutely AMAZING DAY," says Event Executive Producer Daphne Plump. "We are so thrilled that over 100 advocates came out to support Autism Care and Treatment! The funds raised through this event will help provide much needed therapy, biomedical treatments, social skills groups, and more for children with autism, whose families can not afford these necessary tools for their child to live a productive life."

Advocates include: Actors Mark Christopher Lawrence (NBC "Chuck" and "Pursuit of Happyness), Bill Smitrovich (ABC "Castle" and Seven Pounds), Ron Masak ("Murder She Wrote"), Super Bowl Champions Chris Hayes and Ed Marinaro, Racecar Driver/Model Ashley Van Dyke, Actor/Comedian John Byner, Basil Wallace ("Blood Diamond"), Racecar Champion Charles Downes, Mickey Jones ("Home Improvement" and "Tin Cup"), Entertainment Reporter Tina Marie Tyler, World renowned autism expert Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh, and LPGA Golf Pro Karyn Dunphy and Golf Champion Eva Yoe.
