The West Brownsville American Legion Post 940
Ride for Autism
July 13, 2019
The West Brownsville American Legion Post 940 is a non-profit 501c-19 organization. We plan and organize various charitable events yearly supporting individuals in our local communities; however our most successful event to date has been our “Ride For Autism”.
“Ride for Autism” is in the 6th year of planning for our upcoming event Saturday July 13th, 2019. The past four years Autism Care Today for Military Families has been the lone recipient of our event receiving close to a total of $60,000. Our choice to name Autism Care Today for Military Families as our lone recipient comes from many of our Legion members having associations with children affected by Autism, whether it is their own children, grand children or other family members as well as family friends. Our Legion Post feels very strongly towards supporting and helping military families with autistic children and we have made it our purpose to do whatever we can to assist these families in need.
We have aligned ourselves with the Autism Care Today community under their 501c-3 status in hoping to raise awareness to the need to help support military families with Autistic Children and in combination hope we can help better serve Autism Care Today in providing additional grant money to be made available to these families in need. Autism Care Today For Military Families is a non-profit 501c-3 organization that assists members of our active military families by providing grant money to applicants quarterly who have autistic children. Money received by recipients can be used towards ABA therapy, medications, or the purchase of I-pads or other communication devices for example for their children in need. We are asking you as individuals and organizations to make a donation to Autism Care Today in the name of our event “Ride For Autism 2019” to help our organization assist Autism Care Today for further success as their organization continues to grow.
